Do you want to learn how to identify sustainability opportunities and integrate them into your daily routine? This practical module has four main themes:

  • Identifying waste to prevent harm to people and the environment.
  • Utilizing improvement methodologies for environmental and resource efficiency.
  • Analyzing and developing sustainable processes.
  • Working with visions and goals for long-term and sustainable development.

Learning objectives
Describe fundamental concepts, challenges, and opportunities related to the concept of sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on how sustainability thinking can create value for a company, its customers, and society at large.
Describe frameworks for sustainable industry and transportation, such as the global sustainability goals of Agenda 2030.
Describe how sustainability relates to lean/agile methods and how this understanding can be applied in strategic thinking and improvement efforts.
Describe how various perspectives among people and stakeholders lead to different conclusions about the actions to be taken.
Module structure

Recorded lectures, self-study, online quiz on reading materials and final assignment (preferably a group assignment by 2- 4 participants)

Targeted participants

Anyone who has an interest to implement (or understanding) circularity in the manufacturing industry.

Time commitment

To complete this module, the participant is expected to schedule approximately 4 hours per week over 5 weeks (20 hours in total).

Please note that a minimum of 10 participants is required for the module to start.
